Hi dolls! Sorry it has taken me so long to post, things have been crazy this past week with Josh's visit and with work. I feel like everything is in fast forward at the moment, its whizzing by that quickly! And look, its already Tuesday! The weekend in Big Bear with Josh was pure bliss, we went on walks, watched the sunset, went to a delish Mexican dinner on Saturday night, cooked together, and watched football. Although none of these activities are that much out of the ordinary, for us its still perfectly amazing to be able to do them together. When doing long distance, you start to realize the small things, like being able to wake up next to each other, become very big things, and therefore you never take any moment for granted. In that respect, I am grateful that we are doing long distance in the beginning of our relationship because we are able to cherish those moments together that much more. Josh was also able to meet Patrick & Helen, our Big Bear neighbors and very close family friends. Basically my second set of parents if you will. Good to see them and have a little catch up for a bit.
Something that I am getting back on track with that is very important to me is my health and fitness. After graduating college almost 2 years ago, I saw that my weight was suddenly something that needed to be addressed. I have always been extremely active in sports, literally my entire life, but now with working a 9 to 7pm (sometimes later) desk job, it has really taken a toll on my body. In Januarry of this year I joined a new gym, started working out, and eating much healthier. It was nice to finally get back into better shape, although I still feel like I have a long ways to go. It was nice to have some milestones to look to as inspiration (both of my cousin's weddings in which I was a bridesmaid), but lately I have been rather relaxed about my regimen. I have been fitting in work outs/hikes here and there, but nothing that major. So as of this week, I am getting more into it, keeping a food journal again, and just generaly trying to lose those 15 lbs that I want to be off before the end of the year. According to my BMI calculations, in order to have a healthy 25% body fat amount, I need to lose 15 lbs to in order to get there, and that is what I intend to do. Its inspiring to hear of success stoires in magazines, I am a crazy reader of Fitness, Health, and all other women's magazines. I have been looking into new work outs, trying to pump up my cardio and just mix things up. I also need to make a point to get back into yoga. Its a completely different type of work out, and it really gets my muscles long and lean. So anyways, just a personal goal that I thought I would share. Let me know if you have any helpful hints for how to get this whole thing jump started. Thankfully I can tell that my body is already responding to my extra strict eating habits, trying to fit in more fruits and veggies, less carbs and fatty foods. Let the makeover begin!
