Hi dolls! Sorry it has taken me so long to post, things have been crazy this past week with Josh's visit and with work. I feel like everything is in fast forward at the moment, its whizzing by that quickly! And look, its already Tuesday! The weekend in Big Bear with Josh was pure bliss, we went on walks, watched the sunset, went to a delish Mexican dinner on Saturday night, cooked together, and watched football. Although none of these activities are that much out of the ordinary, for us its still perfectly amazing to be able to do them together. When doing long distance, you start to realize the small things, like being able to wake up next to each other, become very big things, and therefore you never take any moment for granted. In that respect, I am grateful that we are doing long distance in the beginning of our relationship because we are able to cherish those moments together that much more. Josh was also able to meet Patrick & Helen, our Big Bear neighbors and very close family friends. Basically my second set of parents if you will. Good to see them and have a little catch up for a bit.
Something that I am getting back on track with that is very important to me is my health and fitness. After graduating college almost 2 years ago, I saw that my weight was suddenly something that needed to be addressed. I have always been extremely active in sports, literally my entire life, but now with working a 9 to 7pm (sometimes later) desk job, it has really taken a toll on my body. In Januarry of this year I joined a new gym, started working out, and eating much healthier. It was nice to finally get back into better shape, although I still feel like I have a long ways to go. It was nice to have some milestones to look to as inspiration (both of my cousin's weddings in which I was a bridesmaid), but lately I have been rather relaxed about my regimen. I have been fitting in work outs/hikes here and there, but nothing that major. So as of this week, I am getting more into it, keeping a food journal again, and just generaly trying to lose those 15 lbs that I want to be off before the end of the year. According to my BMI calculations, in order to have a healthy 25% body fat amount, I need to lose 15 lbs to in order to get there, and that is what I intend to do. Its inspiring to hear of success stoires in magazines, I am a crazy reader of Fitness, Health, and all other women's magazines. I have been looking into new work outs, trying to pump up my cardio and just mix things up. I also need to make a point to get back into yoga. Its a completely different type of work out, and it really gets my muscles long and lean. So anyways, just a personal goal that I thought I would share. Let me know if you have any helpful hints for how to get this whole thing jump started. Thankfully I can tell that my body is already responding to my extra strict eating habits, trying to fit in more fruits and veggies, less carbs and fatty foods. Let the makeover begin!

Monday Donzo : Final Countdown
I forgot to blog over the weekend, which is annoying especially because our Internet was finally working. Its weird, I had a feeling I was forgetting to do something while Internet browsing, and here it is! Overall rather low key weekend, Seven for All Mankind sale on Saturday, mani-pedi/Chipotle date with my roommate, low key nights, lunch with my momma on Sunday. I got a fabulous pair of "Dojo" style jeans, super dark wash, dark pockets, and wide leg with a wide cuff at the bottom. Exactly what I was looking for, very excited. The sale had tons of tops, shoes, bags, I wasn't even aware that sevens made all of that stuff. I got a super cute top too, perfect for tucking into a high waisted skirt. Actually already wore it to work today, need to get the jeans hemmed because I am a shrimpy.
Sunday I drove down to Laguna Hills, half way between Los Angeles and San Diego to meet my madre for a lunch date, and some much needed Target browsing. I hadn't seen my parents since my bday weekend in San Diego at the end of August, this lunch was far overdue. I am blessed to have an amazing family, which includes being super close (best of friends) with both parents. While it took some time to have them go from parents to friends, the transition was not bad, and now we are all at great points in our relationships. I love talking to my mom about everything going on in my life, and I know she enjoys it as well. She is like the best girlfriend, and we always laugh and have a ton of fun together. Had some salads, frozen yogurt, and roamed target for some much needed essentials. Overall a lovely mid afternoon hang out, then headed back to LA for lounging and some more errands with my roomie Candace.
This next weekend is my Big Bear getaway with Josh, the countdown is officially in single digits/within the 1 week marker, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Its been a total of 5 weeks since we have seen each other, I am ecstatic to finally see him on Friday. We are driving up to the mountains for the weekend, should be relaxing and amazing to be with him. Going to try to fit in some hiking, cooking, and just lounging. Cannot wait. Have a good week dolls.

Friday Fun Day : Maxim Aftermath
So last night the Maxim party @ Ecco Lounge in Hollywood ended up being a super fun event. A bunch of us girls from work went, got ready together in the work bathroom (glamorous I know), and headed over to the club. Getting in was a breeze, as we were on the list, and the rest of the night was ours. Ecco Lounge has made a name for itself with an eco friendly sustainable environment, including decor, drinks, etc. Somewhat smaller place, but a good venue overall. Audrina was kind enough to take a picture with myself and the girls I was with, she was very sweet and it was the highlight of the night. I was amazed at how thin so many of the girls at the party were. It never ceases to amaze me, the kind of girls who look like their whole life is to look hot, and I am sure they bust their ass to get there in the meantime. They were all dressed to kill. Meanwhile my group was more after work chic if you will, we threw on some eyeliner and some dress/skirt combinations and went at it. Definitely a fun evening.
Seven for All Mankind jeans sample sale tomorrow @ the LA convention center, and you better believe my roommate Candace and I will be there full force when the doors open to score some discounted premium denim. Oh how the smell of fresh jeans just makes me long for fall. I am looking to snag a good pair of dark wide leg trouser jeans to add to the ever growing collection of jeans in my closet. Its a curse and a blessing all at once. Hopefully I can find something good. Everyone have a great weekend!
So happy Friday, today marks the 7 day marker from which I will be seeing Josh. Cannot believe it has been 5 weeks in between our 2 visits, I hope we never let that much time pass in between again. Too long for sure, I have NOT enjoyed this time apart. Our plan is to make a weekend of it in Big Bear and go hiking and stay at my family's second home. I love Big Bear because it reminds me SO much of Flagstaff, and is only 2 hours away respectively from San Diego and Los Angeles. Needless to say its a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The house is mostly hand-me-down furniture from either my parent's house, or my aunt and uncle's house. Meanwhile, there are some cabin random knick knacks, it always feels like home away from home when I am up there. Hopefully Josh will share my enthusiasm on this one. So far, all 3 visits since we have been seeing each other have been him coming to California, due to him getting to fly for free. I am actually excited because the next visit is me coming to see him in Phoenix! Cannot wait to hopefully meet up with the besties, and overall have a great weekend.

Maxim Party : Postal Service
Maxim Cocktails Party tonight celebrating the Audrina Patridge cover. Homegirl looks rather great on this cover, not going to lie, but mostly I'm going for the free cocktails haha. This day @ work has been somewhat dragging, but nothing like an amazing Postal Service playlist on iMeem to get me through it! Seriously their music is so soothing, its just the perfect soundtrack to a lazy day of reading, or during a crazy busy day @ work, it also does the trick.
Nothing much to report for today, other than I'm wearing a fabulous dark green cocktail dress to the party, oh how I love fall fashion. Toodles!

First Blog : Hello World
Hello All! First blog entry, so I'm not sure the protocol, but I will try to make my blogs as interesting and fun as possible. Also, of course, therapeutic for me. Regardless of whether or not you know me personally, i consider my life and my interests to be somewhat fascinating, and hopefully this blog will give some insight to that. Some big things have been happening in my life recently, so I thought what better way to share than to start a blog.
And so....we are off on our very first adventure today.
Something that inspired me today (fashion speaking): Rachel Zoe and her love for wide leg trousers with an amazing 70s blouse and furry vest combo. Example:
Take a peek, let me know your thoughts! By the way up there...on the left, thats me! Enjoy
